It shouldn’t come as a surprise that it takes an army of well-paid professionals across many disciplines to bring the Amazon magic to life. Thousands of Amazon director jobs, software engineers, supply chain specialists, finance and global business service directors, hardware developers, marketers, data and AI scientists and many more across a global workforce of more than 1.5 million manage billions of transactions each year.

Among seasoned professionals and executive recruiters, Amazon director jobs are some of the most coveted in the industry with nearly 12 salary bands. Well, really 11 since Level 12 is reserved for company founder Jeff Bezos, one of the richest men on the planet. Level 11 is set aside for his top lieutenants like CEO Andy Jassy, CFO Brian Olsavsky, CEO Worldwide Stores Doug Herrington and just a handful of others.
If you’re able to penetrate that elite club, you are likely flying private and vacationing on a private island with a Gates, Walton or Winfrey.
Levels 5-10 are for the rest of us with Level 5 established for talented, experienced workers with at least five years of progressive work history who are looking for good paying director jobs. Data analysts who meet this criteria and are a match for Amazon’s needs should expect to earn about $170,000, according to research firm Instamber.
A software engineering manager or director job, as another example, would earn a base salary of about $160,000 with up to $120,000 in performance bonuses or around $280,000. You’ll work hard, but not a bad haul.
A Level 6 director job in business development typically sees a base salary of around $200,000 and a bonus that tops $100,000 for more than $300,000.
Level 7 is where compensation rises to another stratosphere with a combined base and bonus structure that tops $600,000. For director jobs at this level, candidates should have at least 10 years of experience and a superior track record.
Vice presidents, senior directors, managers and director jobs litter Levels 8, 9 and 10, which typically starts with a base salary above $600,000 and tops $1 million.

• Director of Applied Science based in Seattle. Requires an MS or PhD degree in math, computer science or electrical engineering with 10 years of experience in machine learning.
As you can see, there are options available to ambitious professionals seeking director jobs at Amazon across numerous pay grade and experience levels.
